Catrina is an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) who has assisted with various dental procedures for the past year, including fillings, crowns, and extractions. In addition to her technical skills, she excels in patient communication, actively engaging with them, addressing their concerns, and providing educational information about treatment options. Catrina’s commitment to patient care extends throughout their entire dental journey, offering support and reassurance before, during, and after appointments.
Catrina’s dental career began after earning an Associate degree in Dental Science with honors from San Diego Mesa College in 2016. She takes great pride in helping patients overcome their dental anxieties and building trusting relationships over time. Continual education is a priority for Catrina, ensuring she remains knowledgeable and up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental practices.
Outside of work, Catrina enjoys spending quality time with her fiancé and two beloved cats. They often embark on weekend getaways to nearby cities like Chicago or Kansas City, relishing in mini vacations. Gaming is a shared passion for Catrina and her fiancé, as they enjoy playing PC and PS5 games whenever they have the opportunity. When it comes to food, Mexican cuisine holds a special place in Catrina’s heart.
Catrina finds inspiration in the classic song “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey, which encapsulates her positive outlook on life. In terms of movies, Wall-E and Dirty Dancing rank among her favorites. Catrina roots her approach to patient care in treating everyone like family and extending the same kindness and respect she would desire for herself. An interesting fact about Catrina is her background in ballroom dancing competitions during her childhood and teenage years. She continues to embrace her love for dance through salsa dancing in her free time.
